Tasting Notes

Vinous Neal Martin - 17 Jan 24
The 2022 Monthélie Les Clous 1er Cru has more precision and focus than the Aux Fournereaux, slightly reductive at first, opening with black cherries and touches of violet. The palate has more body than you would expect. Fine but firm tannins, gaining weight and density towards the finish. This feels primal, yet there is real substance for a Monthélie, and like the 2021, I feel this will age with style.
